HOW DO YOU STAY FIT #NOMATTERTHECONDITIONS?

Favorite Home Work-out:
Here in Aruba, we’re still allowed to go out and exercise, so I still go out on the water. Besides that, I’ve been either swimming or running every other day. Next to that, I do some simple bodyweight workouts with squats, lunges, push-ups, and rope skipping.
Favorite Non-Exercise Activities:
Yeaahh I love flowers and plants, so I’m out in the yard watering the plants and chitchatting to them, so the flowers come out pretty! I like reading as well and somehow doing the dishes is also really fun, as I’m not a great cook haha.

Food routine:
Normally, I have oatmeal for breakfast and I eat pasta for lunch, as I’m still sailing everyday. Last night, I think we had the greatest fish and chicken taco’s ever! Thanks to my brother, who should be a chef. Oh, and I love grapes. All day, every day. Throw in an orange too!
How do you stay positive and energetic?
By lots of scrolling on Instagram and Pinterest, while looking up for positivity quotes. Heheh I’m kidding, but not really, because I do think that it is entertaining. Yeah, but to be serious, I think I’m just catching up on reading, I have been wanting to do that for a while.
Other tips:
I enjoy spending time at home with my parents and friends, they are actually stuck at my house at the moment. Somehow, all of this is bringing people together.

Favorite Movie:
I just watched “unstoppable” by Bethany Hamilton. I thought she was cool, but after this movie she has moved up in my rankings as a total badass! She really is unstoppable and that was so inspiring to watch.
Also the last “ all in” series from Red Bull on Stephanie Gilmore and Kanoa Igarashi is very inspiring.
Favorite Magazine:
I like the UK windsurfing magazine. They have a lot of travel stories in there, and they give nice insights of other riders.
Favorite Website:
www.continentseven.com is one of the first websites I check for the latest videos and stories on windsurfing. I also visit www.stabmag.com for the latest surf clips.
Other tips:
Watch a lot of video’s of other sports, like kiting and surfing. It’s kind of cool to see how other people enjoy their sports and see them pushing their limits. It makes me want to get out there and do the same. Also daydreaming about all the other sick trips I REALLY want to do helps me to stay stoked. The situation right now is a good reminder for ourselves to realize what is really important to us!

HOW DO YOU STAY FIT #NOMATTERTHECONDITIONS?

Favorite Home Work-out:
Luckily, I have a gym at home, so I am still able to follow my normal training routine.
Favorite Non-Exercise Activities:
Well, since I am not able to travel, I have lots of time to clean up, paint, sand down the fascia boards and work on all the other things around the house.
Other tips:
Do every day a little bit of exercise. Remember that you don’t have to become a personal trainer or the next cover of Men’s Health in order to stay fit and healthy. For example, if you do 50 push ups and 50 squats in the morning, and an abs work-out of 15 minutes in the evening, your total work-out time is 20 minutes!

Luckily, we are still free to move around in Holland. This means that I can train, kite, run, bike, and basically do the things I used to do. That’s the kind of positive energy I need right now.

Favorite Website:
Windfinder, so I know exactly which spot is on and when.
Other tips:
It’s a shitty time for everybody, but we are all together in this and it will be over soon. This might be a good thing as well, once we realize what a great world we live in, while it’s taken away from us. So let’s take care of it and let’s take care of each other.

Favorite Home Work-out:
Any workout that gets your heart pumping! I found out that HIIT workouts at home can be very challenging, so I’m loving them and I’m doing it 5 times a week. I combine them with leg workouts with resistance bands. Normally, I do these workouts, while I am travelling.
Favorite Non-Exercise Activities:
Definitely cooking! Normally, I do not take the time to discover and try out new recipes, so cooking has become my new hobby. Most of the time, I bake, but all healthy!
Other tips:
Start the day with some exercise and a positive mindset. You can follow plenty of workouts on Instagram and Youtube, I also posted some workouts on my profile. Do some exercise and most of all, listen to your body and do what feels right for you.

How do you stay positive and energetic?
I’m doing a lot of yoga, just as 15 minutes of meditation every morning. Having this daily routine helps me to stay in the present and to calm down and appreciate what I have. It has helped me a lot over the past few years and it’s helping me even more during the quarantine. Positivity is not something that comes from one day to another, you have to work on it, be consistent and results will come. So I’m glad to have these routines as part of my life, which helps me to stay positive and have a good mindset in all kind of situations.
